Women’s Entrepreneurs Day

Hey guys, so today is the Women’s entrepreneurs day and I wanted to share something with you. As a fresh graduate programmer analyst, I participated to a competition lanch by Microsoft called the Cloud Startup Academy (CSA).

We were 44 girls selected in the final day. It’s a program which aims to help African women to lanch their own IT startup based on the Cloud (Microsoft’s one .. of course)

They oblige us to wear a white shirt and black pants ( gladly the waitresses wear differently that day, they were actually more fashionnable)

What’s great about this experience is that they give us macarons for free !! :D  

(I really wasn’t kidding :D )

More seriously, I think it’s great that programs like that enhance women entrepreneurship but I really do think it’s still sexist. I do think a job is good for someone who does it good ! Some women are amazing ! They re smart and talented, others are dumb ! (Sorry.. reality..) but this isnt sexist or insulting !! Why ? Cause guys are dumb too ! It’s not about the gender but the degree of stupidity ! When we talk about how women should be more envolved on this men’s world, I feel manipulated. Because, generally it’s men who take our defense ! As it always pleases me to say a lioness is not a lion ! Why to compare ? 

But as I said, macarons were yummy… and Happy Women’s Entrepreneurs Day !

What Fall is about

So many people think about snow or rain or even dark when they hear about fall time. For me, fall is hope. I always wait for fall to start. For me, it’s the beginning, a change, a promise. When I picture myself in the future, I always do it in a fall time. Same when I think of happiness. It’s always surrounded by darkness, rain and cold weather. No, I’m not a sadistic person not even a sad one. I just love hot drinks, layering, hugs, rain’s sound, my bed, my teddybear, love.

Here are my reasons to enjoy Fall time ! 

1- Registrations usually start in fall 

Whether it’s about going to gym, starting a new business, changing jobs, taking classes or changing your own style, fall is the perfect moment of the year to do it ! You can be or start to be the person you want to be ! 

2- Layering 

I can not imagine a better way to find your own style or having fun trying different things rather on fall. This shirt doesnt flatte your silhouette ? Add a vest on it ? or maybe two or three.. Who said you can not wear your favorite color everyday ? No one, especially not in a fall time. Why ? Cause you actually can.. 

3- Hot Drinks

Try hot drinks in summer … 

4- Make up | No make up !

Fall won’t judge you ! The sun will not widen your little imperfections and make you feel bad about yourself. You want to go dark ? No one will say a word about your smokey ! You want to go bare ! Please do, you’re beautiful and the weather will just compliment you ! 

5- Hugs

I’m not a hugger but I don’t know why (I do, we all do) I just love hugging during the fall time ! Whether it’s my mom, teddybear or friends, no one look at me like what’s going on with you ? They just hug me back with no word ! 

6- Love

I don’t know about you, but in fall times I love. I don’t know how and who (You don’t neither) but I just do. I love and want to be loved ! Okay, wanting to be loved is not funny. But you’re not supposed to be that funny in fall so that’s okay ! You can have your moments of sadness without people hating on you ruining their party or “their summer”. 

7- Caring

Even if the day is shorter (no there are still 24hours per day…) you find sometimes to put some mango cream on your skin.

8- Sleeping

Do I really need to say something ? Bed seems to be more confy and the blankets so warm. PJ are so cool. Life is so beautiful ! 

9- Mosquitoes

I don’t know about your country, but here there is no mosquitoes in fall time ! 

10- Life surprises you 

I’m not sure if it’s the 12 years old me talking or the 23 but I always believe that fall is the period of the year where Life can make me happy ! Life or myself ! Something magical always happens in fall !

Hello from Morocco (4 things I love about my country)

Hellow there, it’s Rima (ريمى in Arabic).

As a morrocan I want to share with you in this post about my country since it’s our Independence Day (for those of you who didn’t guess … I’m from the Kingdom of Morocco :D (yeah must admit the kingdom thing wasn’t that obvious…)

Morocco is located on the North West coast of Africa and has ports in the North Atlantic Ocean as well as the Mediterranean Sea. It is the third most populous Arab country. Morocco shares the largest part of its border with Algeria to the East and Western Saharah to the South. 

Concretely, it’s here :

Our official language is Arabic and the second speaked is French, adding to that Amazigh. But we also, speak English and Spanish. Yeah we’re kind of awesome… What I love about my country is that is rich ( no, not because we’re Arabs then we’re rich… we’re not.. financially..) 

We are rich in terms of culture. And yeah our food is beyond delicious (trust me on that !) I can not be fair about the cultural diversity in Morroco in one article, but I’ll try to resume it. 

1- People :

Throughout Moroccan history, Morocco has hosted many peoples, in addition to the indigenous Berbers, coming from the East (Phoenicians, Arabs), South (Sub-Saharan African), and North (Romans, Vandals, Spanish-Andalusians both Muslims and Jewish).It has also hosted many forms of beliefs, from Paganism, Judaism, Christianity to Islam.

 What I love about its people it’s their diversity. We’re so different but so the same. I don’t know if you can get me but I love how the fact that we all belong here defines us as a community. Moroccan are known by being generous. And they are. You can not die starving in Morocco. There will always be someone who’ll share his lunch with you, a family who opens its door for you or even a restaurant who’ll give you food for free.  And if you were a tourist with a super bad experience here .. well I feel you .. I’ve been a tourist myself and I had a couple of bad experience but it’s not the citizens’ fault, but just this person or people you met. In bad times as funerals or in happy ones as weddings, people are solidary and that’s heart’s melting.. or it’s my hormones.. never mind…

2- The cities

Each region in Morocco possesses its own uniqueness, contributing to the national culture. I live in Casablanca, the economic capital and no we don’t drive camels ( but cars, fancy ones sometimes… but I wish we did, camels are freaking amazing ! )

Have you ever tasted morrocan food ??? It’s so yummy but won’t keep in you shape !! But, seriously do you really think your body gonna think diet when your papillae gonna taste those spices ?

4- Oriental Dresses

Okay, the fashion addict in me is gonna talk now. I just LOVE oriental dresses from caftans to djellabas. I just love how classy, colorful, happy and modest in the same time it looks !
